Vivint Smart Home Arena, formerly EnergySolutions Arena and the Delta Center, is one of the oldest operating arenas in the NBA. In an effort to enhance the fan experience at the arena, the Utah Jazz organization is conducting a $125 million renovation to the venue which will begin immediately and conclude in time for the 2017-2018 NBA season.
The renovations will include brand new cushioned seats, the relocation of the will call and box office to the southeast plaza and a revamp of the Gate 5 entrance. The bridge that leads to the Gate 5 entrance will also be demolished. Both the lower and upper levels will be completely redesigned in layout and new club seating and suites will also be built. Additionally, the concessions will also get a face-lift and will have more than 30 offerings next season.

Locally owned Okland Construction Company will handle the renovation project. Many Utah Jazz fans will likely miss the iconic green seats which are still in place from the memorable Karl Malone and John Stockton days. However, the new navy blue seats will offer Jazz fans a more modern and comfortable experience during home games. The funds for the renovation will come from the Miller family, long time owners of the team and will not be financed with taxpayer dollars. The renovation comes after Vivint Smart Home, a home services provider, purchased the naming rights to the arena in October, 2015. Utah Jazz fans could be in for a real treat next season with the renovations to the arena combined with the continued progression of the talented young team the Utah Jazz currently have.
