The Los Angeles Clippers organization are introducing a new premium seating area at the Staples Center with the addition of the “Star Courtside Seats”. The area will consist of eight seats that will sit courtside between the Clippers and visiting team benches. The scorer’s table that previously occupied the area will be broken up into smaller pieces.

The Los Angeles Clippers organization did not publicly disclose the price for season tickets for the Star Courtside Seats, however, league sources are suggesting they’ll be priced at $175,000 per ticket for a full season. That comes out to just over $4,000 per seat, per game. Only the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors have seats with a higher price point. In all likelihood, the Star Courtside Seats are an effort by the Clippers to lure more celebrities to the courtside area; something Los Angeles Lakers home games have always been known for.

Other perks that will accompany the Star Courtside Seats will include valet parking, a VIP entrance to the Staples Center, complimentary food and drinks and a wait staff that will bring it all to you. Clippers fans that are currently courtside season ticket holders, such as Billy Crystal, will have first dibs on the Star Courtside Seats. The NBA’s push for more club and premium seating has become obvious. The Dallas Mavericks recently introduced a premium seating area called “The Lofts” at the American Airlines Center. The Sacramento Kings recently introduced a similar seating area called the “Balcony Boxes” which overlooks the court at the Golden 1 Center.
