The New York Jets have announced that they will be freezing all ticket prices for the 2018 and 2019 NFL seasons for fans enrolled in the 10 and 12-month installment plans. Following the franchise’s second straight 5-11 season and seven-year playoff drought, season ticket prices will decline by an average of 11% next season. The 11% decrease in season ticket prices is the largest drop since the Jets first moved into Metlife Stadium nearly 10 years ago.
Ticket prices for nearly 50% of the seats at Metlife Stadium will decrease; season tickets for the upper level will cost an average of $45 per ticket. New York Jets fans will also now have the option of purchasing season tickets on the upper level without purchasing a personal seat license (PSL). Current season ticket holders on the upper level will also be able to upgrade to a lower level PSL without paying a relocation fee.
Notable opponents coming to Metlife Stadium in 2018 include the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts. Of course, what’s on everyone’s mind is whether the decrease in season ticket prices is because the New York Jets are genuinely a lackluster team or because the popularity of the National Football League is declining overall. Last week, former WWE owner Vince McMahon announced that he will be reviving the old XFL in 2020 (Xtreme Football League). The XFL will be geared towards patriotism and will bar players with a criminal record from playing in the league.
