This is one of the more lively bleacher sections (left center) though I didn't see the same type of drunken shenanigans that I've seen in Wrigley's bleachers. Cubs fans will call this place a dump just because it's newer; but guess what? The Sox won a World Series just a few short years ago, when was the last time the Cubs won anything?
I will warn you that the bleachers are metal but at least they have backs to them unlike Wrigley. The only bad thing is having your back to the jumbo trons but I think you will encounter seats like that in every ballpark you visit.

Reinsdorf has added some great features over the years to make this a more exciting place to watch a baseball game. If you love Chicago Sports in general, check out the Chicago Sports Depot outside of Gate 5. It has everything; Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls, Bears and White Sox. Also, check out the Bacardi Bar in the same area, they have a ton of tvs and indoor and outdoor seating for fans before and during the game. The drinks were a little pricey, though.

No the south side doesn't have the best neighborhoods but Chinatown is nearby and the Bridgeport area nearby has been cleaned up quiet a bit over time. You should always feel safe attending a Sox game, always!!!

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 161, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a White Sox game at U.S. Cellular Field. The video was shot during Mark Buehrle's perfect game.
