Hard to get hyped for the game when you're sitting on the upper level but 439 wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Sat here for the All Star game last season which felt much different because for once, I was watching a game at Kauffman that didn't involve the Royals. Our seats were in row H which was the very back of the secton but they were just fine. The view we get of the fountains in the outfield was beautiful; they're what makes Kauffman such a picturesque ballpark.
Also, with only two decks of seats not including the loge level, the upper deck sits closer to the field than in some ballparks I've been to. The upper level of Busch Stadium seemed much higher when I visited.
The seats were kind of faded, not something I would have expected from a stadium that just underwent a bunch of improvements. To our surprise, there were also no cup holders for our drinks. But the experience was great with only one downside. The right field foul pole. It stands as a partial obstruction but in my opinion, not enough to completely ruin the viewing experience.
