Found these seats on Stubhub. Yankees were hosting the Baltimore Orioles that day, it was a day game so the ballpark wasn't all that full. Can't believe this place is already in it's 5th season and they already at least have a World Series!
I would avoid row 1 simply because of the plexiglass which intrudes on your view. Sit in rows 2 and above.
The view of the field is excellent so no worries there; just above first base with a good look at the Yankees player dugout. If you or your child want autographs during batting practice, you shouldn't have any trouble getting down to sections 13 and 14 along the first base side. The Yankees bullpen is actually in the center field area and you can't see it so well from these seats.
There is a stand called Brother Jimmy's BBQ that you will definitely want to hit up if you're not bringing your own food into the ballpark (which you can do as long as it's in a see thru grocery bag).
Concessions are expensive but show me an MLB ballpark with cheap concessions. No different than going to an amusement park or the movies.
