Came here for an A's - Marinerss game. I've seen all of the AL West divisional teams way too many times here but they're the best way to ensure the best seats for not a whole lot of money. That's because everyone else has seen these teams a million times too. Think about it.
I bought tickets for this section via the A's box office. I called ahead of time and I'll remember not to do that anymore because they tack on all kinds of little service charges. I would rather deal with the scalpers hanging outside of the BART station.
I was pretty happy with these seats mainly because they stare right at the A's bullpen - where the relief pitchers warm up. Yes, it's weird that the team warms up on the side of the field but Oakland likes to keep things old school; just look at the concession stands. : )
Most seats at the Coliseum have good visibility with few obstructions. You will have had to have watched a game at Wrigley or Fenway to appreciate this aspect.
There is no club seating on the second level unlike so many other ballparks I've come across. To get to this section, just follow the fans up the North Plaza ramp outside of Gate D to the 2nd level.
Hopefully, Wolff and Fisher can get their act together and get the A's a new stadium somewhere in the Oakland area. I would be fine if it even isn't in the downtown vicinity, just as long as they don't go to San Jose and there is a BART stop near the stadium.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 227, here is a Youtube video shot from there during an A's game at O.co Coliseum.
