317 has by far the best panoramic at PNC Park. You can see parts of the ballpark and the surrounding area that you just can't see from the infield seats. The seats were a little on the small side but that's pretty standard to the rest of the sections as well.

The upper level is somewhat steep but I've seen steeper (old Yankee Stadium). Rows A-J are going to be the most ideal seats not just for this section but most sections in the ballpark. I've been to more Pirate games than I can count and take pride in being a fan that has been there thru thick and thin. I can't stand the Steelers fans that root for the Phillies.

The club seats are padded and are good too but they don't give you the atmosphere that the other two levels will give you. I enjoy sitting with the real fans and not area businessmen. I always buy my tickets from the little ticket kiosks outside of the ballpark. They're free to use and save time so you don't have to stand in the box office line. Just so you know, you can walk right up to the box office on most nights and buy some good seats for the game. You can probably do that in most MLB ballparks but especially in Pittsburgh because the attendance is so whack.

There are also "All you Can Eat Seats" in sections 201-205. I have yet to sit there but some fans may find that it saves them a ton of money by sitting there.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 317, here is a Youtube video shot from row H (seat 7) during a Pirates/Milwaukee Brewers game at PNC Park.
