Sat here for a Cardinals game versus the Arizona Dbacks two seasons ago. The view was great but it wasn't a very intimate experience even though we were almost directly behind the plate. Couldn't make out any of the players and it's hard to gain an appreciation for their size, speed and skill when you sit so high up. Sitting on the bottom level for a game was a completely different experience and I think every seating area offers something different and will appeal to different fans.
Unfortunately, the high demand for tickets drives up the price of the good seats. Field box seats will often run you $50-$70 a seat which gets expensive when you factor in food and getting to the ballpark. $8.25 for a beer is just ridiculous but obviously people pay it otherwise the price would drop.
Sit here for a great seat on the Terrace level but if you can swing tickets on the bottom level, sit there instead. I don't know if there are any Cardinals fans that sit on the Terrace level out of preference. It's more out of what fans can afford.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 448, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Cardinals/Texas Rangers game at Busch Stadium.
