First off, if you're not from Dallas, the best time to check out the Rangers are during the months of April, Early May and late September. The hot summers are nearly unbearable, always dress lightly - no need for jackets.
I loved these seats, no matter how high you sit up, you're going to be able to see the field well. Having a good view of the main scoreboard (there is only one) is also vital at this stadium. 329 isn't quiet behind home plate, it's more towards the first base side but I've sat in 326 behind home plate and the view here is just as good; practically the same in fact.
There are three levels of seats so you won't be able to read the names on the back of each player's jersey from these seats but if you know the team really well, you will at least be able to read their jersey numbers.
Wednesday nights are dollar hot dog nights, so that might be a good night to check out the Rangers if you're being thrifty. Also Friday nights are firework nights, so bring the kids out and enjoy the fireworks after the game.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 329, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Rangers game at Rangers Ballpark.
