Made the trip down to DC from Philly for the first time last season to see my Phillies take on the Nats. Not a bad drive, more fans should take advantage of the close driving distance between all of the stadiums in the Northeast.
When you get to your hotel, you don't have to really worry about driving to Nationals Park. There is a light rail all throughout the city and you want to take the Green Line to Navy Yard Station and then just walk in. To get to your seats in section 116 the easiest, you'll want to enter thru the Home Plate Gate and take a left. You don't have to go that way because navigation is simple around this place.
Once we got to section 116, we sat in row M and were surprised with how close it was to the field. I think row D or E was the very first row, not row A.
Strategically, this was a section behind the Phillies dugout and there were a ton of Phillies fans in our section. Instant camraderie! I was surprised with how welcoming Nationals fans were of course, they're a brand new fan base so maybe they don't know how to be baseball fans just yet?

There was a huge variety of food here at the ballpark and my favorite was just outside of our section called 'Taste of the Majors' where they have a staple item from Atlanta, Miami, New York and Philadelphia; all of the Nationals' divisonal rival cities. We tried Miami's cuban sandwich. Pricey but well worth it. Whoever thought of this idea is a genius.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 116, here is a Youtube video shot from row J during a Nationals game at Nationals Park.
