This review is for 317, row 1, seat 3 - one of the newest west balcony sections of Madison Square Garden. As many Knicks fans will be happy to tell you, the Garden has been long overdue for updates.
The west balcony received perhaps the biggest improvement in my opinion. It still has that great view of the action, access to decent beer selections, concessions and there is now barstool seating surrounding the seated area.

The view is comparable to sitting in a box and the convenience to concessions is uncanny. The downside to these seats?

There were no bathrooms in the general area. We had to go downstairs to access the nearest restrooms, which are way too small to handle the crowds from both levels. There wasn't a ton of leg room but I think that depends on the size of the person. I'm 6'3 and have problems with comfort in many places I visit.
Most importantly, make sure you never purchase your seats from scalpers outside of the arena; I've heard way too many stories of scams from other fans. Always buy your tickets from the Knicks/Rangers organization online or from a website similar to Stubhub. That is all.
