The field was very beautiful from our seats in 533. The seats with their sky blue color also blended in nicely with the sky for the day game we went to (vs. the San Francisco 49ers). Getting to our seats was very tricky. The ushers don't want you venturing into the lower level if you have a ticket for the top level. So you'll be stuck with the top level fans and the top level concessions the entire game. I took binoculars but those are hard to use once the ball is snapped so you had might as well leave them at home. If either team is pass heavy that day, it's fun to watch from 533 but the running plays are mighty boring.
The majority of the stadium's seating if focused on the top level, 37K seats I think, so you'll be in good company.
We had plenty of leg room. I always hear about how "cramped" the upper level seating is but I guess it's all relative to the size of the person complaining. The only problem I had with the top level seating was the lack of escalators. The ramps you have to climb wind forever.

Sadly, NFL football will always come third to Nascar and college basketball in the state of North Carolina. That doesn't mean you won't enjoy your trip to Bank of America Stadium. It's conveniently located just blocks from the Lynx, Charlotte's public transportation system. There are also a ton of lots surrounding the stadium for you to park in, expect to pay in the range of $15-$40 for any of those passes which you can buy ahead of time online.
