If you're a Lions fan that doesn't have to be right on top of the field to enjoy the game, I would say 221 is more than suitable for you in terms of seating. The endzones aren't a lot of people's preference but it's not that bad at all in fact, the tickets are much more reasonably priced than seats with a sideline view. The audio presentation via the PA guy is spectacular and the quality you should expect to find in every venue. I think I paid $100 for two seats in row 3 of 221 for the October 16th matchup against the 49ers last season. Great game even though the Lions lost, for once, it felt like a playoff atmosphere.
Of the 9 NFL stadiums that are indoors, Ford Field should be the standard. Yes, Cowboy Stadium is cool but if you've ever been there, I think you would agree that it's a little over the top.
Try to avoid a Lions game when a Red Wings or Tigers game is going on or about to take place. Downtown becomes a mess.
