I'm a transplanted Jets fan living in enemy territory so let me tell you that I dread coming to this place and dealing with the idiots drunk off Sam Adams Octoberfest every season. In all honesty, they're not too bad and in all honesty, Gillette Stadium is a hell of a stadium. It's in the middle of nowhere with one road in and one road out (Route 1) which is kind of the appeal of it since the location is more "New England" and less "Boston".
The sight lines in the lower level are always great and the open air feel created by the lighthouse and bridge in one endzone is a nice touch. I always sit in the lower bowl for Patriots/Jets games.
I was in 114, row 16 for last season's heartbreaking overtime loss to the Pats. We were just to the side of the end zone straight ahead. The sidelines at Gillette are pretty big so we weren't right on top of the field but close enough to hear all of the hard hits and QB play calls on the line of scrimmage.
Each seat is a push down seat. If you're holding an upper level ticket, good luck sneaking into the bottom level because every seat will always be occupied.
The Jets entered the field via the tunnel just to the left of these seats. The Patriots use the tunnel out of the open end zone end beneath the bridge and the lighthouse.

The atmosphere was amazing. It's not as full of die hards as the old Pats stadium was with the bleacher seating. Completely different atmosphere but some of the fans are still just as rabid.
The variety of food is definitely above par compared to other NFL stadiums I've been to. The Nantucket Sound concession stand has a lot of seafood options including "clam strips". You won't regret buying those even though they were pricey. And just a heads up, the line was really long for Nantucket Sound.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 114, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Patriots/Miami Dolphins game at Gillette Stadium.
