To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 301, here is a Youtube video shot from there during the national anthem at a Blackhawks game at the United Center. Great center ice view!

I sat here for the Kings-Blackhawks game on December 28th, 2011 - row 12. I had no trouble following the puck. The only thing I disliked about my seats was that they were packed a little tight together but I guess that's how you make money, get as many fans into a building as possible.

Walking up the steep stair case to your seats is no fun either. There are roughly 17 or 18 rows in 301 so row 12 was up towards the top. There are hand rails to assist you though unlike Nassau Coliseum in New York.

When you sit center ice, there are really no other sections that could beat it. I will say that from my time sitting on the top level and the lower level as well, that the lower level offers a completely different experience to Blackhawks fans. It's much more intimate and exciting but those seats are too expensive for the average hockey fan. You get what you pay for, that is for sure.
