I've been coming to Capitals games for quiet some time and have seen way more games in person than the average hockey fan. I've sat in every section in the arena except for on the 100 level (so the 200's, the boxes, and 400's) and have always been very happy with my view, especially from the front row of the 400s. I've only ever been to Capitals games, though I am looking forward to seeing a concert and a Wizards game here.
The game I went to when I was seated in 404, row K, was between the Hurricanes and Capitals. Closer isn't always better; it depends on your preference. Watching at home on television and saving money is certainly much better than dropping $200 on an upper level seat and it does come to that for some games.
